Both Shad and Julie are musically inclined. Shad plays the guitar and Julie plays the keyboard. Julie loves being intimately involved in Shad’s ministry and is also a part-time accountant. They have plans to sell their home in Johnstown and seek a home to purchase in Ft. Collins.

During the current brief season of transition, Shad and Julie have been seeking the Lord’s leadership in returning to the pastorate. Shad’s passion is for church planting and recent church plants. His current position is as a Laser Templator, taking precise measurements for the cutting of granite counter tops. This experience has given Shad a new appreciation of what it means to work full-time while being active in church life.

From 2003 to 2017 Shad planted and pastored Church on the Ancient Path in Windsor, CO. After raising support to launch the church, the congregation was self-supporting within 2 years. In the first five years of existence, the church witnessed over 80 men, women, and children come to know Christ. Eventually, the church enjoyed regular attendance of over 200. Shad led in the implementation of LIFE groups (similar to our Community Groups) with up to 12 meetings at a given time. He implemented a one-on-one discipleship pathway plus an Eldership/Leadership structure.

Most recently Shad served in the Orchard Church, Brighton where he was the Care Pastor. Orchard is a mega church. Shad had oversight of the Encourager Ministry (Lay Counselors), Celebrate Recovery, Grief Share, and Divorce Care ministries. He also provided leadership for the One-on-One Discipleship ministry and gave oversight to up to 500 volunteers. Additional areas of oversight included Prayer, Missions (local and global) and local Outreach.

Shad Wickstrom and wife Julie are Northern Colorado natives. They have four children and one granddaughter and are currently residing in Johnstown. Shad’s father and grandfather were both pastors. Shad graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and worked toward a Master of Theology degree at Dallas Theological Seminary with additional study through Bethel University and Seminary.
