TPC Family & Friends,

We’re off to a great start in the book of James, and I’m so encouraged to hear how this series is challenging and encouraging you in your faith. Here’s a peek at Sunday’s topic:

FAITH OBEYS - JAMES 1:16-27

True belief causes Christians to live out their faith according to God’s Word. We don't just passively hear the Word and receive it, rather action should always follow genuine heart change.

Also, keep yourself in the loop by checking out what’s happening at TPC below!

IF:Gathering is all about gathering as women, being equipped, and being unleashed to live out our purpose as women and to help others do the same. What IF we followed God with perseverance instead of insecurity? At IF:Gathering 2018, we will look at one of Paul’s letters to Timothy and be encouraged to give God away in the very places He’s put us. We all get tired, we all wonder if what we’re doing matters, so IF:Gathering 2018 will be the reminder--it will be the celebration that God DOES move through the little things that nobody sees.

TPC Family & Friends,

It was exciting to kick off our new series through the book of James. This particular book gives us very practical and pointed instructions about living the Christian life. James tells us what authentic, saving faith should looks like—it works!

Also, take a few moments to see what’s happening in February and how you can be involved! Ladies, don’t overlook our last article below on the IF: Gathering!

SERMON SERIES- BOOK OF JAMES

James Orange

The book of James, written by the half-brother of Jesus, gives us very practical and pointed instructions about living the Christian life.  Written to a people who were scattered and suffering, James encourages communities of faith to obey God and put feet to their faith. Rather than letting us be deceived by a mere profession of faith, James tells us what authentic saving faith should look like—it works. We hope you will join us!

Blessings,

CHRISTMAS EVE SUNDAY! - THIS SUNDAY

Christmas Eve

With Christmas Eve falling on Sunday this year, we are going to change things up! Instead of our normal 10:00AM service, we are encouraging everyone to enjoy a special Christmas devotion (that we will provide) in the comfort of your own home. Enjoy that family time!

Then, we invite you to join us later that day, at 4:30PM at Harmony School, to celebrate the birth of Jesus at our special Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. It will be a wonderful time filled with Christmas carols, holiday cheer, and a special Christmas message that you and your children will surely enjoy. We will also be offering childcare for infants - 2 years old.

COAT DRIVE - LAST WEEK!

Winters in Colorado can be really cold, and a good coat can be really expensive for a family that is struggling to make ends meet. Join with us as we collect new/like new coats to bless families this winter season. Collection will continue until THIS Sunday, December 24th, after our morning service. This is another great opportunity to love our city well!

CHRISTMAS EVE SUNDAY!!!

Hello TPC Family & Friends,

Here we are! We’re only 26 days away from Christmas. How are you doing? How are you really doing? Are you overwhelmed yet? Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Ugh!!!

Take a deep breath and let’s remember the real reason for the season:

For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Now that’s good news, isn’t it?

Below you will find a few ways that you, your family, and our community can come together and celebrate this Christmas season in a meaningful way. Join us!

Blessings,

Pastor Alan

As I’m writing this note, there is snow on the ground, and the holiday season is in the air! Now is the time to begin making your holiday plans. I’m not talking about trips to see family and trips to the mall. I’m talking about a game plan for you and your family to express your faith, serve as a family, and show generosity toward others. Below are some great ideas and opportunities for you and the whole family to do just that. I hope you will join us.

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

Blessings,

Alan

I hope you are all enjoying your TRANSFORMED daily devotions and group time. We have sold out of the workbooks and have close to 70 adults going through the study together in groups. That is encouraging on so many levels!

Let me challenge you in these 5 areas: 1) Be disciplined; 2) Don’t give up; 3) Take your goal setting seriously; 4) Step out in faith; and 5) Expect God to show up!

I’m so excited to hear of God’s work among you. Please don’t hesitate to share your personal victories with me along the way at alan.reed@pursuitchurch.com.

Flap Jacks Lumberjacks

While the ladies attending the retreat are away, the rest of us will still play! Come early and bring the family for breakfast and praise! Donations for breakfast will go towards supporting our TPC Youth! Extra credit for flannel shirts, pajamas, and scruffy beards! We will have our regular service after the breakfast.
